Lester Clarke "Stubby" Stubblefield, 85, died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 in Edmond, Oklahoma.

His friends knew him as "Stubby" and many have never known his real name. Lester Clarke Stubblefield was born in Augusta, Georgia, to Cecil L. Stubblefield and Eva Bargeron. He entered into eternal rest on March 7, 2006, at the age of 85 years.

He married Theo Jeanette Johnson on June 14, 1941.

During World War II his bad leg prevented him from enlisting in the armed forces so he did his part by working as an electrician in the ship yards on the Gulf Coast building ships for the US Navy.

Following the war he worked as an electrician with a large electrical contractor in Columbus, Georgia. During that time he worked on many large scale projects like the parachute jump towers at Fort Benning, Georgia and the new printing press for the Columbus newspaper.

Lester and his young family migrated to Boise City in 1952 where he joined his cousin Lauarence "Scotty" Scott in the Boise City Body Shop. He left the body shop in 1967 and began working with his wife, Jeanette, in Jetts Upholstery. He continued with that trade until his retirement.

He married Tiny Babbs in 1995 and they enjoyed their later years traveling and enjoying life together.

Lester was a member of the Boise City Christian Church, Boise City, Oklahoma and a life member of IOOF, also of Boise City.

Mr. Stubblefield was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters, son Cecil Theordore Stubblefield, wife Jeanette Stubblefield, son John Robert Stubblefield, and his second wife Tiny Stubblefield.
