Rachel Rogers Strickland, a native of Collins, MS and a longtime resident of Opelika passed away at a family home in Orange Beach, AL on Wednesday, March 8, 2006. She was 82.

Mrs. Strickland was retired from Strick's Wheel Alignment which she co-owned with her husband, W.T. "Strick" Strickland and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Opelika. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Jean S. Barrett.

Mrs. Strickland is survived by her daughter, Louise (John) Bullock of Orange Beach, AL; five grandchildren, John (Kim) Bullock of Tallassee, AL, Vickie (Lee) McLeary of Opelika, Virginia (Albert) Hall of Venus, CA, Will (Jenny) Barrett of Birmingham, AL, and Jeanna (Allen) Rice of Nashville, TN; eleven great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at Garden Hills Cemetery in Opelika on Saturday, March 11, 2006 beginning at 1:00 p.m. with a graveside visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m.
