Visitation for Ashley Christine Payne will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles St.) on Friday, December 19, 2003, from 5:00 9:00 p.m. and funeral services will be held at the Stine Road Baptist Church (3000 Stine Rd.) on Saturday, December 20, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Pastor Jeff Ward will officiate.
Ashley is survived by her father, Jeff Payne; mother and stepfather, Wendy and Carl Reaves; sister, Alycia Payne; paternal grandmother, Nancy Payne; paternal grandfather and his wife, Charles and Penny Payne; maternal grandmother, Barbara White; maternal grandfather and his wife, Earl and Beverly Clayton; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.
Ashley was born January 10, 1987, in Bakersfield where she was raised. She was a loving and devoted daughter, and an especially devoted sister. Her childhood was spent focused on family and friends, and she was active both scholastically and athletically. She possessed a tremendous love of animals, and cared deeply for her pets. An avid lover of music, she could not complete any tasks without music in the background. A student of Liberty High School, her years there were spent building strong and loving relationships with her peers. Always using using her beautiful smile to project happiness to those around her, she will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
