She was the companion of the late Robert L. Seiple who entered into rest in 2012, and her late husband, Don W. Bacon, who entered into rest in 1996.
Doris was born in Adamsville, aka "Pinch Gut", on May 6, 1932, and was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Charlotte May (Cooper) Emenheiser.
Doris was a cake decorator at the former Jay's Super Thrift, retiring after many years of service and a longtime member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
Surviving Doris is her son, Gregory L. Bacon of Brogue; a daughter, Deborah M. Smith of Brogue and husband Randall; six grandchildren, Sarah, Kashia, Matthew, Thomas, Daniel, and Andrew; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Bacon in 1992; a grandson, Jackie Kornbau in 1984; and a sister, Betty Hawkes.
Viewings will be held Sunday, Sept. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 15 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion.
A Service of Honor and Praise for Doris will begin on Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Her pastor, Joshua T. Beben, will officiate.
The burial will be in Bethel UM Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to Cancer Patient Help Fund, York Health Foundation, 50 N. Duke St., Second Floor, York, PA 17401.
Doris loved her family and they always came first in every way.
She adored Sarah, Kashia, and Wesley and spending time with them.
She liked to go hunting and fishing and especially enjoyed her trips to the Delaware Park Casino. She will be sadly missed.
