William Michael Myers was born in 1848 in Danville, Des Moines County, Iowa, the son of Lazarus & Abigail 'Baker' Myers. His family were farmers and lived in several places such as Flint River, Des Moines Count; Liberty, Marion County; Jefferson, Mahaska County; and then back to Des Moines County.

William, age 17, and Clarinda, age 15, married on 24 Dec 1864 in Middletown, Des Moines County, Iowa.

They moved to Wyandotte County, Kansas then to Nemaha County before 1870 where they lived in Granada, and later moving to El Dorado, Butler County, Kansas. William was a farmer and carpenter.

They had seven children, all born in Kansas:
1. Clara Francis Myers
2. Frank A. Myers
3. William Henry Myers
4. Cora Lovevilla Myers
5. Lillie Mae 'Maude' Myers
6. & 7. Twin sons (died at birth according to cemetery records.)

After raising their family, William and Clara moved to Kechi, Sedgwick County, Kansas and lived there for a short time. They then moved back to El Dorado where William died in 1918.
