Sarah was born June 5, 1924 in Oil Hill, Kansas the daughter of James and Eva (VanWormer) Crawford.
She started working at the age of 14. During the war she worked for Boeing Aircraft. Sarah was a manager for Furr’s Cafeteria; she opened the first one in Wichita, Kansas. She was united in marriage to William Clifton, he passed away in 1973. She was a member of the VFW and the First Christian Church. She was an avid KU basketball and San Antonio Spurs fan. She loved her flowers, cooking and playing bingo.
Survivors include daughters Sonya Rae Rhodes of San Antonio, Texas, Susan K. (Dennis) Young, Billie Jean (Joe) Greene all of El Dorado and Jane (Mike) Wright of Florida; grandchildren Cindy, Debbie, Steve, Melissa, Melannie, Bethany, Bobbi, Jason, Katelyn and Mary Kate; twenty-eight great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, husband William, sisters Bernice Evans and Margaret Kearney.
Memorials have been established with Asera Care Hospice or Meals On Wheels.
Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday September 15th at Walnut Valley Memorial Park. Visitation with family will be 2-4 P.M. Sunday at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home.
