Lila Phillips, 86, services held Friday

Services for Mrs. Everett (Lila) Phillips wee held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 15 in the United Methodist church with the Rev. Thomas Woodin officiating. Interment was in Phillips' cemetery at Bonair with Bradley-Lindstrom Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

She died June 12 at Evans Memorial Home where she had been a resident for several years.

Lila Leola (Bawden) Phillips, daughter of Jesse and Edith (West) Bawden, was born in Chelsea, Illinois on November 24, 1897. On December 28, 1915, she was united in marriage to Everett Phillips in Bonair. They became the parents of two sons, Guy and Richard. The couple enjoyed over 68 years together.

Lila was an active member of the Methodist church and WSCS circles where she was presented a life membership pin. She was also a member of Rebekah Lodge for over fifty years and was a Past Noble Grand.

She is survived by her husband, Everett and two sons, Guy and Richard, all of Cresco, five grandchildren and nine great grand-children; also a sister, Neva Morgan of Cresco.

Her parents, three brothers, Clayton, Milton and Leslie and two sisters, Alice and Mabel preceded her in death.
