1st photo, ship's manifest. Maria, is documented as Stephen's wife on ship's entry on line 22, when he and his son Filibos immigrated to the America 16 October 1910. The ship's manifests confirm Stephen Astikian's New York address. Filibos was nine-years-old, line 23. Maria Astikian's whereabouts after 1910 is unknown.

2nd photo, naturalizaton application, 1918. Marissa Astikian is listed on Stephen's naturalization paper, it confirms her birth year and residence. Stephen Astikian submitted his family history on a government document. There is no mention of Rose Demirjian, it is blank. I believe he did not legally marry Rose because he was still married to Maria Astikian who was left in Turkey with Marissa Astikian.

3rd photo, Mount Ararat, Armenia. Present day Turkey.

Stephen Astikian had a second wife in the America, Hadji-Kez Rose Demirjian. She immigrated with Stephen Astikian's parents, Haji Nazaret Astikian and Haji Maritza Yepremian, 27 July 1912.

What happened to Filibos is undocumented. The family moved to Toledo, Ohio around 1914, directories confirm residence. Only three other sibling burials in Ohio are confirmed between 1916 and 1927. On the 1940 census, Cleveland, Ohio. A Stephen Astikian is listed. Filibos Astikian's middle name would have be Stephen after his father. So he may have dropped Filibos and used Stephen. The age is consistent. Filibos was born either 1900 or 1901 and the 1940 census lists him as 40 years old.
