MILLERSBURG -- Amy (Vaughn) Simmons, 59, of Millersburg, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with Pastor Wes McElravy officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Township Cemetery, Holmesville. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster 44691.

Amy was born Nov. 10, 1954, in Millersburg, the daughter of Fred and Freda (Dowalter) Vaughn, and married Scott Simmons on Feb. 1, 1984. He survives.

Amy worked for 30 years at IAC, formerly known as Collins & Aikman & Akro. She was a member of Holmesville Church of Christ.

She enjoyed making floral arrangements for the tops of tombstones, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She liked to fish and was an amazing cook.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are children, Angie Miller (Mark Hoxworth) of Clark, Phil (Amber) Miller of Dover, and Kenny (Desiree) Miller of Millersburg; grandchildren, Justin, Tessa, Breanna, Hallie, Chase, JP, Brigette, Emma, Addison,and Kennady; a brother and sisters, Rex (Pam) Vaughn, Carla (Greg) Guthrie, and Cheryl (Jim) Whitman, all of Millersburg; a brother-in-law, Bill (Gretchen) Simmons of Illinois; sisters-in-law, Teresa Simmons of Iowa, and Greta (Donnie) Winterbaur of Illinois; and many caring aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Freda Vaughn; and her father- and mother-in-law, Carl and Charlene Simmons.
