Son of Ernest and Anna (Fitzgerald) Price. Husband of Stephanie Kaufman.

He was a barber.

Fred graduated from the Moler Barbering School in Chicago, and came to work at the Three Oaks Barber Shop when it was owned and operated by Roy Hamley, in 1962. When Mr. Hamley moved to Nashville, Tenn. Fred, along with Roger Deikman, stayed on to operate the barbershop for him. Fred managed the barbershop under the ownership of Roy Hamley for about seven years, and then became the owner in 1977.

Fred was born and raised in New Buffalo, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Price and he graduated from New Buffalo High School.

Fred and his wife Stephanie were married July 6, 1963. Their four children were Gregory, Jeffery, and twins, Deana and Darin.

The Price family were members of Three Oaks St. Mary Church.

Fredrick Allen Price of 808 N. Elm St., Three Oaks passed away on arrival at St. Anthony Hospital in Michigan City on Saturday morning, April 19, 1986.

Mr. Price was born in New Buffalo on Feb. 26, 1942, the son of Ernest and Anna Fitzgerald Price. He was 44 years old at the time of his death.

He married Stephanie E. Kaufman on July 6, 1963 at New Buffalo, she survives.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Gregory, Jeffery, Darin and one daughter, Deana, all at home and one grandchild. He is also survived by his father, Ernest Price of New Buffalo. He was preceeded in death by his mother, Anna Price in May of 1985 and a sister Gloria Hoover in 1966.

Mr. Price is also survived by sisters, Isabella (Frank) Stella, New Buffalo; Noreen (Frank) Craig, Michigan City; Diane (Paul) Heppler, New Buffalo; Kathleen (Edward) Shenkle, Cincinnati; Kitria Chissom of Michigan City and brothers, William Price, Fairmont, Minnesota; Leo Price, Clarence Price, Michael Price and Mark Price, all of New Buffalo; David Price, Long Beach, Indiana.

He had lived in the area all his life. He was owner/operator of Three Oaks Barber Shop.

Services were held Tuesday, April 22, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Three Oaks with Rev. Joseph Koma, CSC. officiating. He was a member of the church. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

He was a member of Three Oaks Lions, River Valley Baseball Assn., River Valley Athletic Boosters and was elected in March to Three Oaks Vilage Council." From The Galien River Gazette, April 24, 1986, page 27
