Ida Lavinia Etheridge Priddy was born on November 22, 1854 in Alabama. She was the daughter of John W. Etheridge and Martha Nicholson. In January 1870, she married John Calhoun Priddy in Moulton, Lawrence County, Alabama, where the settled and had several children: Mary Ann (born November 20 (or 18), 1870), Lou Ellen (born September 19, 1872), Idella Mae (born May 2, 1874), John Thomas (born July 18, 1876), Ada Lovena and Ida Lovena (born April 6, 1879), and Edward Dixon (born March 12, 1881). Sometime after Edward's birth the family migrated to Texas, first settling in Zavala County where on February 1, 1887 son Arthur Benton was born. Ida Lavinia Etheridge and John Calhoun Priddy subsequently moved to Brundage, Dimmit County, Texas, where they continued to farm. Ida Lavinia Etheridge Priddy died on October 19, 1939 and was interred at Brundage Cemetery.
