He was an active member of many senior citizen dances in the area, especially Brooklane Community Center in Hueytown. He loved music, camping, travel and making friends along the way.
He was survived by his wife of 65 years, 3 sons, 6 grandchildren, and 3 sisters. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jesse Rainey; 4 sisters, Frances Powers, Dot Harding, Betty McKay, and Tommie Neumann; and 2 brothers, Charles and Johnny Rainey.
Services were held at Bell Forestdale Chapel.
