Lester E. "Les" Ferguson , 88, of Holiday, Fla., died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2006, at the Peninsula Care and Rehabilitation Center, Tarpon Springs, Fla.

He was born in Ithica and moved to Florida from Wheeler in 1989. He was a retired machine operator for The Dow Chemical Co. in Midland, with 27 years of service. Les was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Living Word Church in New Port Richey and a member of the Crestbridge Gardens security patrol.

Les is survived by his wife, Catherine Ferguson of Holiday, Fla.; his sons, Robert Ferguson of Safety Harbor, Fla. and Rodney Ferguson of Illinois; his sister, Evelyn Northrup of Michigan; his brother, Laurence Ferguson of Michigan; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, at the Living Word Church, 5151 Rowan Rd., New Port Richey, Fla. The Thomas B. Dobies Funeral Homes, Holiday, Fla., were in charge of the arrangements.
