Arzelia Denitra "Zee Zee" Marshall was born on December 23, 1997 in Kansas City, Missouri to Amber Marshall. In April 2005 Amber and Arzelia married the love of their lives, John T. Gardner, and he became husband and father.
Arzelia began her academic journey at Stony Point South Elementary. During her time there she participated in several talent shows, was a Safety Patrol Member, and played the violin. She then continued to Arrowhead Middle School where she participated in debate and basketball. Due to her academic excellence she was invited to Sumner Academy of Arts and Science in 2011. While attending Sumner she excelled in basketball and further continued her academic success.
At the early age of four Arzelia began dance at Kristi's Academy of Dance and Performing Arts. Then, at the age of six she won a spot on "K" Company, the competitive performing group. She loved to travel the country sharing her gift of dance with others. She continued to use her artistic ability until she made a decision to concentrate on enhancing her basketball skills.
Since the age of three Arzelia has been active in church, where she was a member of the Olivet Institutional Baptist Church Youth Ministry. At the age of five she gave her life to Christ at Eighth Street Baptist Church. During her time at Eighth Street Arzelia ministered with the One Accord Liturgical Dance Ministry, Youth Choir, Sunday school, and Sunbeams. She continued her ministry at Church Triumphant World Overcomers where she praise danced and was a part of the Youth Ministry. She later became a faithful and an active member of the Worship Center of Kansas City. Arzelia was a faithful junior worker in the Children Ministry and also participated in the Praise Dance Ministry. Arzelia was a beacon of light to all that crossed her path.
She preceded in death by her grandmothers, Audrey Marshall, Dorothy Marshall, and Sallie Mae Gardner and her grandfather, John B. Gardner. She departed this life on Sunday, September 7, 2014 in Kansas City, Missouri.
She leaves to cherish her memories; her parents, John and Amber Gardner of Kansas City, KS; her great grandfather, Ellis Allen (Su Sing) of Kanas City, Missouri; her grandfather, Meredith Marshall (Deloris) of Kansas City, KS; her uncles, Kerneious Whitley, Adrian Gardner and Kenneth Murrell all of Kansas City, MO and Quentin Gardner, Sr. (Christine) of Raytown, MO; her aunts, Tyran Murrell, Naishia Gardner of Lee's Summit, MO; and Stephanie Gardner of Kansas City, MO; her godparents; Cherise and David Ornelas and Sala Covington and a host of great aunts, great uncles, cousin and friends.
