He worked as a top sales executive for many different companies, the last one being 101 Mobility.

Richard met Tamara Tuttle at the young age of twelve. They became high school sweethearts and married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 3, 1965. Richard and Tamara raised their nine children in California, Colorado, and Salt Lake City.

A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served faithfully in many callings, including Young Men's, High Priests, Bishop, and as a counselor in the Stake Presidency.

His greatest joy in life was his family and being with them. He was everybody's best friend and had a great sense of humor.
