Mike will always be remembered for his true passion and zest for life. Everyone knew he always had a funny story to share that would make us all laugh and brighten the day.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William H. and Irene A. Ames; and son, Kyle Michael Ames.
Those left to treasure his memory are his wife of 26 years, Barbara L. Ames; daughter and son-in-law, Sydney A. and Richard Mann; grandsons, Tyler and Troy Mann; daughter, Carrie Lane; granddaughter, Willow Ames; step-son, Randall Pyle, his fiancée, Kristy; and grandchildren, Jewelya, Kaylee, and Alexander; step-daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Larry Braye; grandchildren, Gabriel Michael and Victoria Irene Braye. He also leaves behind his two favorite girls, his dogs Roxie and Jaxon, and a host of close buddies, the “Denizens of the Wall” the friends he loved as brothers.
Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Sherwood Memorial Park, with the Rev. Kelly Dampeer officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Oakey’s North Chapel.
