Wife of Wilbur Ralph Pride
4-H leader in Pike County, IN for more than 40 years
Sunday School teacher at Main Street Presbyterian Church in Petersburg, IN for many years
Sadie knitted, sewed, played piano, and worked hard her entire life. She was a loving and beloved grandmother to 7 grandchildren, and a mother of 2.
She was raised in Algiers, Pike County, IN, then lived for short times in CA and OH when her children were small. She and Wilbur built a home in Algiers, Pike County, IN, then after their children had grown, they moved to South 7th Street in Petersburg, Pike County, IN where they resided for many years. They later moved a home onto what became the grounds of Pride's Creek Park to supervise its construction (the park lands having been given by Wilbur's great-grandfather, Henry Pride, for the purposes of a county recreational area).
Sadie and Wilbur also had a home in Port Charlotte, FL where they resided during the bitter midwestern winters - and where Wilbur died suddenly in 1984. After his death, Sadie returned to reside in Petersburg, IN, then to Boonville, IN, where she passed away in 2005.
