Mrs. Swift was born in New York, New York, a daughter of Thomas F. and Christine (O'Shea) Waters. She attended St. Nicholas of Tolentine School, St Vincent Ferrara High School and Fordham University.
A homemaker in more recent years, she was once employed with the American Can Company.
A resident of Ridgefield since 1965 coming from Queens, NY, she was a volunteer at the Danbury Hospital and Laurel Ridge Skilled Care Center. She was a member of St. Mary Parish of Ridgefield.
Mrs. Swift was an avid reader and enjoyed the game of golf.Surviving are two daughters, Danielle Swift of Waltham, MA and Darlene "Bunny" Kolf and her husband, Joseph of Brookfield, CT; a brother, Thomas Waters of Ohio and three grandchildren, Kaylee, Briana and Michael.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Swift was predeceased by a brother, James Waters and a sister, Frances Devlin.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11 am in St. Mary Church, Ridgefield.
Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield.
