Darryl Kevin Carter

Passed away suddenly at his home in Winter Haven, FL on Sunday, August 31, 2014.
Darryl was born to William and Virginia Carter on June 22, 1957 in Philadelphia, PA. Shortly after graduating from Widener University, Darryl began his career in the transportation/truck industry. He loved what he did and worked his way up from dispatcher to Vice President of Human Resources, the position he held at Oakley Transport Inc. in Lake Wales, FL. Darryl relocated to Winter Haven, FL four years ago where he quickly made friends and impacted the lives of many.
He was passionate about music and was the lead guitarist in several local bands throughout the area. He also enjoyed watching and participating in body building competitions in his spare time.
Darryl was a proud and loving father of two children: Darryl Kevin II and Danielle Patrice, both of Harrisburg, PA. He was preceded in death by his brother, William N. Carter, Jr. and is survived by two brothers and one sister: Marvin Andre Carter of Glassboro, NJ, Steven R. Carter and Joan Fredericks, both of Grand Cayman, BWI. Darryl is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be held 11am Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Pitman Road Church of Christ, 500 Pitman Road, Sewell. Viewing hours: 9am - 11am. Burial in New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr. Arrangements entrusted to COVINGTON FUNERAL HOME, Atco. Condolences may be sent to www.covingtonfh.com.
