The death of Jonas Diefendorf -- Our obituary column this week announces the death of Rev. Jonas Diefendorf, who departed this life at his late residence in Frey's Bush, on the 12th instant, in the 71st year of his age.
The funeral of the deceased occurred on the 15th, when the Rev. N. Van Alstine of Fordsboro, pronounced a fitting eulogy on his life and character, which was listened to by a large concourse of sympathizing, attached friends. For so worthy, exemplary and patriarchal a citizen, who goes to his grave with the honor of a well-spent life resting upon him, it is __________ due that his good deeds should be commemorated, and we are glad to have procured the Diocese of Mt. Van Alstine for publication and shall give it a place and account next week.
