Laura V. Huber, 95, passed away July 20, 2014, at Ivy Court in Coeur d'Alene. Laura was born October 9, 1918, in Gothenburg, Neb., to Laura Potts Brown and Sam Brown. She was raised in Gothenburg, along with her four sisters and five brothers, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Laura married Herman F. Huber and the couple moved to California where Herman was employed by the U.S. government. The family settled in Concord, Calif., soon after they had their only child, Connie. Laura worked for the Mt. Diablo School District transporting special needs children until she retired at age 65. Following retirement Laura and Herman enjoyed traveling, and spending time with family and friends. After Herman's passing, Laura joined Connie and her husband, relocating to Hayden Lake where Laura continued to enjoy time spent with family and the beauty of nature. Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; parents, Laura and Sam; grandson, Robert M. Benzon; and all her siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Farnsworth; granddaughter, Terri Sumner; grandson, Jeffrey B. Benzon; great grandchildren: Roman Sumner, Darby Sumner, Andrew Benzon, Piper Benzon, and Mackenzie Allen; and numerous extended family members. Please join the family to celebrate Laura's life at 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Gathering Center.
