George was born April 28, 1918 to
Edmond and Emma (McConnell) Wilson
at Newell. He attended the Newell
School until 9th grade. He went into the
Army in January 1943, serving his country
until 1946. George and Dorothy
Urban were united in marriage March 2,
1951. They spent most of their married
life farming north of Newell. To this
union a daughter, JoAnn, was born.
George and Dorothy retired to Storm
Lake, however, George never gave up his
"Olivers".
George was very active in the Albert
City Threshermen's organization and
loved showing his "Oliver" tractor at their
celebrations. He enjoyed traveling and
visiting and storytelling with his many
friends.
Preceding George in death were his
parents; wife Dorothy; brothers Emery,
Eugene, John and Frank; sisters Marian,
Lucille, Jeanette and Genevieve; and
grandson Todd.
George was a very special father
grandfather and friend, who leaves all
who knew him with many wonderful
memories.
