Death notice in the 6 Nov 1924 Brooklyn Eagle, p. 22, col. 1.

Obituary on page 10, columns 2-3, in the same issue of the paper, states that the Reverend Luther, a well-known Baptist evangelistic minister, was a lineal descendant of Martin Luther and of Charles Carroll, a signer of the Declaration of Independence.

Author of the hymnal "Temple Chimes" (1888) and the book "Road to Sodom, or a Christian's Relation to the World" (1895). Composed lyrics for "Must I Go, and Empty Handed?" and many other hymns.
