Carl Edgar Neal Sr., 72, of Brightwood, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2014, in Charlottesville. Born February 3, 1942, in Tazewell, Virginia, he was the son of the late Frank Neal Sr. and Ethel Akers Neal. He is preceded in death by siblings Frank Neal, Jr, Roy "Sonny" Neal, and Sally Neal Kuykendall. He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Dickerson Neal; one daughter, Sheri Lynn Neal Weaver and husband, George; two sons, Michael Ray Neal and wife, Michelle, Carl Edgar Neal Jr. and wife, Melida; one brother, Bobby Neal and wife, Sherri; one sister, Elizabeth White Quick and husband, Ben; nine grandchildren, Colton Weaver, Sierra Weaver, Lindsay Neal, Krista Neal, Rylan Neal, Derrick Neal, Samantha Lambert, Rachel Lacy and Ally Lacy; two great-grandchildren, Skylar Neal and Christina Greer; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2014, at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison, conducted by Greg Vogt with interment in Madison Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service on Friday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
