The condition of J. W. Baker, who has been lying very sick at Independence for the past few weeks has not grown any better, and when T. J. Trigg left there on Saturday morning, the doctors thought his case was almost hopeless. He was wounded in the head during the war and now inflammatory rheumatism and neuralgia has settled in that wound and he is hopelessly insane and seems to be fighting the battle in which he was wounded over and over again. A telegram from there dated Saturday at 5 p.m. said he was no better. Mr. Trigg said he could see no help hope for his recovery.
