Marie-Catherine is the daughter of Claude Dugas and Francoise Bourgeois. She married Philippe Melançon in about 1695, in Grand-Pré, they are the parents of at least the following:

3) Marie (1699-1756) md Antoine Landry
4) *Marguerite (abt 1705-1772) md Rene Trahan

6) Anne-Marie (1710-bef 1763) md (a) Charles Babin and (b) Charles Thibodeau
4) Philippe (1712- ) md Marie-Josephe Trahan
5) *Pierre (abt 1715-1766) md Marie-Magdeleine Leblanc
