Carter Russell died at the age of 94, one day before his 95th Birthday. He retired from the Army, after serving in three Wars, World War II., Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He was a Lifetime Member of the Heart of the Lakes VFW Post # 1008. He was preceded in death by his parents Lydia (Carter) Russell and Joseph L. Russell, a sister Vera Grace Russell, and two brothers-Jeral Russell and Billy Joe Russell. He is survived by: His wife of 46 years, Viola Russell of Waterford, Michigan, two daughters-Janes Russell and Jean Russell, three sons-Jerry Russell, Jerry Coe and Richard Coe, 7 grandchildren, and 8 grandchildren.
