"A service will be held Thursday at 11 a m. in the Fitz Henry Funeral Home chapel in Indio for Lee Ola Hammons, 80, of Thermal. She died Monday in Thermal. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the chapel. A native of Arkansas, she was a member of the Coachella Valley Womans Club and of the First Baptist Church of Thermal. She lived in the Coachella Valley for 48 years. She is survived by her husband, Luke; two sons, Gary Hammons of Indio and Halton Hammons of Dallas; a daughter, Barbara Gentry of Rialto; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Charlie Council and Harry Council, both of Coachella and Jim Council of Livermore. Burial will be in the Coachella Valley Cemetery."
