Information from Little Cedar Lutheran Church, written in 2003:
Robert Carl Finbraaten was born December 25, 1923 (noon) to Dolphy and Albert Finbraaten. He is one of three children, a brother Ronald (deceased), and sister Mary Jane (Robert) Resseguie. He has four nephews and one niece.

He was born in Kewanee, Illinois, and lived on a farm near Galva, IL, until the family moved to Adams in March of 1936, during a Minnesota winter, including ice.

He graduated from Adams High School in 1940. During high school he participated in ag and sports and also 4-H.

He attended one year at the Uf MN Ag School after which he came home to farm with his dad.

He ran for county commissioner in 1956, and was in that office for 36 years. He very much enjoyed it but is very happy he retired when he did. He now enjoys just helping out on the farm since moving to town in 1995.
