Frank Parker (aka Kid Parker) was b. 24 Nov 1879 Long Rapids, Alpena, MI. as Benjamin Franklin Adams son of Thomas C. Adams and Mary C. Matthews. He changed his name to Kid Parker from Adams because he thought his family was embarrassed that he had become a professional boxer. He was a lightweight and almost World-champion at the turn of the century, he mostly fought out of Chicago. He owned a tavern in downtown Sault Saint Marie, MI, and performed as a professional wrestler after his boxing career ended.
My connection is great-nephew, as his brother John Q. Adams was my grandfather. He first married 31 Mar 1900 Mary Ann Fournier dau. of George Fournier and Mary Chenes, he married second 26 Oct 1914 Phoebe Ellen Knight dau. of Eugene Knight and Elizabeth Henry.
