Phyllis Maxine Fath was born on November 8, 1924, in Pella, Iowa, to Philip and Louella Beintema Bogaards. She passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at the Griffin Nursing Home in Knoxville, Iowa, at the age of eighty-eight.
She completed the eighth grade at the Warren School and then started her working career. For many years she was employed at the Pella Community Hospital Nursing Home as a nurse's aide.
On October 20, 1944, Phyllis was united in marriage with Jerald Vogelaar. On November 5, 1983, she married Clarence Fath.
Those left to cherish her memory are: her children: Mark and Brenda Vogalaar of Eden, Georgia, Philip and Shirley Vogelaar of Pella, and Kathleen and Preston Kelley of Clermont, Florida; her grandchildren: Brenda (Jeff) Cordes of Pella, Teresa (Matt) Van Weelden and their children Elizabeth and Isaac of Otley, John (Jenn) Vogelaar and their children Lola and Landry of Des Moines, and David (Anastasia) Vogelaar and their children James and Paulina of San Francisco, California, Angela (Andy) House and their child Amelia of Omaha, and Jessica (Joel) Van Zante and their children Gavin and Vera of Olathe, Kansas.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence Fath; her son, David Vogelaar; and her sister and brother-in-law, Florence and Harvey Steenhoek.
