HARRY E. BREWER, 76, of New Bremen died Monday, September 8, 2014 at 12:21 pm at his residence. He was born September 20, 1937 in New Bremen, the son of Robert W. and Lidwina (Stegeman) Brewer. On July 7, 1956 he married Ruth Kitzmiller who survives in New Bremen.

Also surviving are his children: Cheryl Overly of St. Marys, Charles and Tina Brewer of New Bremen, Bob Brewer of Casstown, Barbara and Mike Britenriker of Archbold and Christina and Terril Collier of Dayton; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, two grandchildren and his son-in-law Edward Overly.

Harry was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen, the New Bremen Rod and Gun Club, the F.O.E. 1391 of Minster and served on the Western Ohio Rail Authority Board. In 1995 he retired from the United Dairy Farmers of New Bremen where he had been the maintenance supervisor. He enjoyed his time wintering in Florida, following Nascar racing and most of all spending time with his family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen with Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial will be in the German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 4 until 8 P.M. at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen and on Friday from 9 until 10 A.M. at the church at which time the Rosary will be prayed. Condolences to the Brewer family can be left at gilberghartwigfh.com.
