Diving operations continued today for the bodies of five crew members of a 115 foot tug which capsized yesterday in the Delaware River.
The tug, the J. M. Taylor turned over in less than a minute when a sunken barge rose to the surface directly under it. Four members of the nine man crew were rescued.
The tug's owner said the craft was hired to mark the spot of the submerged barge, which sank Friday as it was towed across the river. The barge was partly loaded with freight cars.
The backwash of a passing ship and a strong outgoing tide was believed to have disturbed the barge forcing it to the surface.
Those missing were Capt Alton R. Murray, Marley Park Md. and Olie Kuntson, deck hand: Norman Hickman , deck hand: Andrew Benakos, Fireman, and Pasquale P Boecassini, fireman, all of Philadelphia.
