Albert graduated from Uniontown High School and West Virginia University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran who served during World War II. He was an Electrical Engineer for American Cyanimid, and after retiring did a lot of work for the city of Williamstown and raised and lowered the American Flag for the park and football games. He was also a member of The First United Presbyterian Church in Williamstown, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1823, B.P.O. Elks #477 and American Legion Post #159 in Williamstown, and was an avid Steelers fan.
He is survived by his wife Suzanne Daniel Balsley whom he married February 20, 1946 in St. Mary's, WV., daughter Gretchen McManus (Shean) of Tampa, FL., grandchildren Karin Balsley of Nashville, TN., Ryan Balsley of Kansas City, MO., Erin Rowland (Marty) of Murfreesboro, TN., Seth Grimenstein of Nashville, TN., great grandchildren Ella Rose Rowland and Callie Grimenstein, daughter-in-law Jan Balsley, niece Cynthia Wood (James), great niece Laura Wood, foreign exchange student from Orange, Australia, Ashley Brown and Alice and Judy Raymond.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Bill Balsley, sisters Helen Sharpe and Betty Hawkins and brother-in-law John Raymond.
Services will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike Street with Pastor Elizabeth Maleke and Reverend Ken Calebaugh officiating. Burial to follow in Riverview Cemetery.
