Reverend Troy D. Allen, 84, of Scottsbluff, died September 6, 2014 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. His funeral service will be held September 10, 2014 at First Assembly of God Church in Scottsbluff. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Troy was born March 10, 1930 at Bird City, Kansas to Claude C.and Avis(Curry) Allen. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. On August 5, 1955 he was united in marriage to Darlene Winter at St. Francis, Kansas. He was ordained in Great Bend, Kansas in 1977. The couple pastored in churches in Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas,and Wyoming for over 55 years, including a radio ministry in Scottsbluff.He was the minister at First Assembly of God Church during its construction. He was an avid music lover, especially southern gospel quartet music. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Doyt, Wayne, Gerald, and Merrill; sisters Joyce and JoAnn, and brother Robert and sister Kathryn who both died in infancy.
