Tecumseh resident Dorothy M. Sloan, 84, died Sunday, March 5, in Shawnee.
She was born Oct. 3, 1921 in Bixby to Frank H. and Florence H. (Martin) Robison Sr.
Dorothy was raised in Seminole. She spent 17 years in Shawnee, moved to Tecumseh and upon retirement she moved to Hemphill, Texas, on the Toledo Bend Reservoir, where she spent 12 years fishing and living the good life. In 1996 she moved back to Tecumseh.
On December 28, 1940 she married Leroy Edwin Sloan Sr. in Shawnee.
She was a homemaker for 60 years and a member of the First Church of God in Tecumseh.
Dorothy loved fishing and enjoyed painting and crocheting. She also love the Lord.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Thelma V. Hayes; and two brothers, Frank and Warren Robison.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Leroy Edwin Sloan, Sr., of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Leroy "Ed" and Janis Sloan Jr. of Tecumseh, and Frank William and Barbara Sloan of Shawnee; one brother, Dean Robison of Houston, Texas; four grandsons, Kyle and Kevin Sloan, Frank W. and Randal D. O'Neal; and seven great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. today at Cooper Funeral Chapel with Todd Tiffin officiating. Burial will follow at the Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.
