Blues musician. Born on a cotton farm in Mississippi, Davis learned the basics of blues in juke joints and became an extraordinary singer and piano player. His best known recording, the blues standard "Sunnyland Blues" was released in 1931. During his twenty-three year recording career, he recorded over 150 blues songs.
