Dad (Jack Busby) died today about 9:45 AM at home with Mother (Bea) at his side, in Thatcher, AZ.

Carla who has been with Mother and Daddy daily was also at the house when dad passed away.

Dad was talking with Mother when his system just shut down and he was no longer with us.

Dad was not in pain and was having a normal conversation with Mother when he left to go be with God.

Daddy is in a better place now and learning new ways of living in the kingdom of God.

Daddy had been having a real hard time with his bout with liver cancer and was not able to bounce back from all the problems that came with the cancer.

Daddy fought the cancer daily and was good one day and bad the next but tried very had to beat the cancer even though he had not been able to eat for or drink for some time.

Over the last year we have all made sure Dad knew just how much we loved him and appreciated him for all that he had done for us and others over the years.

We all knew this day was coming even though we were hoping for the best we were preparing for the worst.

Dad told me several months ago he was not ready to leave this world and beat the cancer while he was taking care of business. Today Dad decided it was time to leave us and get on with his next life and he left us quietly and calmly.

Dad made sure we took care of all the arrangements for his passing over the last few months. All of you who knew Dad know that he always wanted to prepare for every thing and did not like being caught off guard if at all possible.

You should have seen Dad showing Mother how to pay the bills and take care of the kitchen so she would know how to do those things when he was no longer able to. Dad had a filing system and a half and made sure Mother knew where everything was so that when he got too sick to pay the bills she could handle it.

Dad has had me and Carla making sure that when he died everything that needed to be done in his absence was taken care of.

It took 50 years for me to figure it out but I am just like my father. Yes, even though we were apart for so many years, I noiced that we talked alike, walked alike, joked alike, laughed alike and even thought the same about most things...how is that for the son being just like the father ?? ...scary but true.

Dad was a very special person to all of us and will be missed by all of us.

Remember Dad for who he was and what he was and all the fun he brought into our lives one way or another.

I will always remember his smilie and his matter of fact attitude about life!

Daddy would have been 78 years old in April 2006.

Dad was cremated in Thatcher, AZ but some of his ashes will be scattered over the grave of his GGGGrand Parents at Mooreville Cemetery in Falls County, TX.
