Robert Ned Grover, of Reedsburg passed away at the venerable age of 86 years 10 months 1 days on Saturday, September 6, 2014. He was born on November 5, 1927, in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Earl and Mildred (Jackson) Grover.

Ned proudly served his country in the US Army from 1952 to 1954, honorably discharged after being released as a POW in Korea.

On August 28, 1955, Ned was united in marriage to Dorothy A. Crawford. This marriage of 59 years was blessed with three children.

Ned was a member of the Hillpoint VFW Post #343. He was a former member of the Sandusky Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Supervisor. He later became a member of the Reedsburg United Methodist church where he currently attended.

He enjoyed playing on the church dartball league and playing cards at the VFW card parties through the years.

He was a former Board Chairman of Washington Township, and coached children’s softball in Hillpoint in his earlier years.

Ned was an avid Brewer fan and enjoyed woodworking projects and bird watching. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family.

We celebrate Ned’s life with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014, at the Reedsburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Marvin Singh officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Reedsburg, at a later date.
