Meredith "Merry" Jones of Wiscasset passed into Glory on September 6, 2014, surrounded by his children. He had valiantly battled cancer for over three years.

Meredith graduating from Erskine Academy in 1960, joined the army reserves, where he served for 6 years. He worked at Vocaline in South Bristol, followed by 26 years at Bath Iron Works. He retired from BIW in 2007.

He was active in his church, serving as a Sunday School teacher, superintendent, and choir member. He was always one to whom you could seek advice, prayer, or good conversation. Meredith enjoyed golf, bowling, and watching his grandchildren play and grow. He was a faithful father and grandfather, being a constant presence at games, concerts, and graduations.

A graveside service for Meredith will be held Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the Alna Cemetery at 2 p.m., followed by a reception at the Bible Baptist Church in Wiscasset. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bible Baptist Church in Wiscasset. His family would like to thank the awesome staffs at CHANS and HillHouse Assisted Living for their sweet care of "Jonesie".
