Son of John Streator Gleason & Desdemona Chase.
In 1889 with his father and brother in laws (Joseph, Elijah, Alvirus, Amasa, Stanley, Kennards) they decided to homestead over 600 acres of land in Garland in Box Elder County to provide homes for the children. Their first crops were corn from which they ground corn meal and made corn bread. They also raised pigs.
He was murdered at a train depot in Collinston.
