Frank N. Salvo, 91, of Avon, Ohio, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010 at the Columbus Colony Nursing Home in Westerville. He was born October 4, 1919 in Nu Mine, Pennsylvania. Mr. Salvo was employed for 42 years at the H. Goodman, Inc. in Cleveland, Ohio as an upholsterer. Frank was a member of St. Augustine Church of West 14th in the Tremont area of Cleveland. He was also a member and a previous President of the (CAD) Cleveland Association of the Deaf and a member of the National Softball Hall of Fame for the Deaf.
Mr. Salvo is survived by sons Frank P. Salvo (Barbara) of Concord, Ohio and Samuel A. Salvo (Anita) of Amherst, Ohio; grandchildren Tiffani, Tara, Triniti, Sarah, Rachel, and Paul; great-grandchildren Dominic, Devin, Sofia, Francesca, Mia, Gavin; and sister Anne Sustarsic of Willoughby.
He was preceded in death by his wife Loretta (nee Drone) in April of this year; brothers Nicholas, Joseph, Paul and Santo Salvo and sisters Mary Mancini, Nellie Natasi and Josephine Krajewski and his parents, Frank and Santa Salvo (nee Colosi).
Funeral service will be at Saturday, November 27 at 11am at the Busch Funeral Home, 32000 Detroit Road, Avon. Rev. Joseph McNulty, Pastor of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Cleveland, will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8pm Friday. Memorial contributions may be forwarded to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 E. 185th Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44119.
