The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the 1964 New York World’s Fair used a Christus replica to help visitors understand Latter-day Saints are Christians. The Christus is used by the Mormon Church in it’s teaching of Christ.
Enos Curtis and his family were among the first to embrace the Mormon faith in Pennsylvania in the 1820’s. The history shows the family following the Mormon trails from New York to Utah in their pursuit to find freedom from religious persecution. Many individuals perished along the way, including Ruth Franklin Curtis, wife and mother of the Curtis family.
According to the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Edmund, unlike her family, Lydia was unable to embrace the Mormon faith on earth due to an early death. However, she does have the opportunity to join the Mormon faith in the hereafter.
