Former Somervell Man Buried in Stacy
Jessie James Stacy 6 of Stephenville former resident of Somervell County passed away November 28, 1963 in a Stephenville hospital following a long illness.
Funeral services were held Friday November 29 at the Graham Street Church of Christ with Minister Dan Anders officiating and interment was in the West End Cemetery in Stephenville.
Born Jan 21 1897 son of the Late Mr and Mrs Henry Newton Stacy he had lived in Erath County 45 years and in Stephenville 16 years. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife: two sons Royce of Stephenville and Lavirl of Dallas; two daughters Mrs Velma Dunson and Mrs Ruby Griswold both of Fort Worth ; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren one Brother Bryon Stacy of Stephenville and a half brother R A Bennette of Stephenville three sisters Mrs Ada Jackson of Stephenville, Mrs Dough Ice of Glen Roe and Mrs Victoria McCarty of Anson and one half sister Mrs Minnie Little of Stephenville.
Pallbearers were: Holly Stacy, Pruiit Jackson, Walter Little, Newt Jackson and Odell Ice.
Attending the funeral from Glen Rose were Mr and Mrs Doug Ice, Mr and Mrs Odell Ice, Mr and Mrs Hershel Reynolds, Mrs Jessie Phipps, Joe Clayton, Henry Stacy and Mr and Mrs Early Teague and family.
