Pamela Jane Sparks, age 32, 2610 Plymouth Road, Johnson City, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014, in the Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Columbia, Tennessee, and had lived most of her life in Johnson City. Ms. Sparks was the daughter of Allen Wayne Sparks of Johnson City and Louise Staten Russell of Jonesborough. She was a graduate of East Tennessee State University. Ms. Sparks was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Lewis Sparks, Jr. and Betty Jane Church; her maternal grandfather, Robert Staten.

Other than her parents, Ms. Sparks is survived by a sister, Jennifer Lynn Tipton of Johnson City, maternal grandmother, Lucille Ferguson Fields of Jonesborough; a niece, Tiffany Coffey and a nephew, Billy Tipton, both of Flag Pond; three great nephews, Thomas, Aiden and Joe; several uncles, aunts and cousins also survive.

Funeral service for Pamela Jane Sparks will be held at 7:00 P. M. Saturday, September 6, 2014, from the Unicoi Funeral Home. Reverend Bill Ponder will officiate. Music will be provided by Craig Ponder and Inez Chandler. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P. M. until the hour of service. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Committal service will be held at 10:00 A. M. Sunday in the Roselawn Memory Gardens. Family, minister and friends are asked to assemble at the Unicoi Funeral Home by 9:30 A. M. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery.
