LAKELAND - Dr. Isbin S. Giddens, 84, of Lakeland, passed away late Saturday evening, Jan. 7, 1995, at Louis Smith Memorial Hospital after a length illness.
He was born in Berrien County and had lived most of his life in Lanier County. He served many citizens of this area in his practice of family medicine. He was a member of the Lanier County Lions Club and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lakeland, serving as a deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Rebekah Giddens of Lakeland; a grandson, Kyle Giddens of Lakeland; three sisters, Elizabeth Felts of Lakeland, Luelle Ogburn of Greenville, S.C., and Doris Jansma of Atwater, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 1995, at First Baptist Church of Lakeland, with burial following in the Greenlawn Baptist Church of Lakeland, with burial following in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Lakeland. Dr. Giddens will be taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior to services. The family will receive family and friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight.
