Gary E. Dotson, 61, of Piqua, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at his residence.

He was born in Williamson, WV, to the late William J. and Blanche K. (Keesee) Dotson. He married Sharon Gates (daughter of Wilbert and Lois Gates) on April 23, 1994, in Piqua. She survives.

Gary is also survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Jesse and Amanda Dotson, Nathan and Brittney Offenbacher, Justin Offenbacher and Jefferson Dotson; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Lee Ellis, and Faye and David Clark; and six grandchildren Breann and Jessie Dotson, and Brayden, Peyton, Layla and Xavier Offenbacher.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Candace Kay Dotson; two brothers, William Sterl and James Larry Dotson; and two sisters, Wilma Smith and Donna O'Neal.

Gary graduated from Piqua Central High School in 1971. He was a member of Piqua First Freewill Baptist Church. Gary was employed at Copeland in Sidney for 25 years.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at Piqua First Freewill Baptist Church, 1500 Clark Ave., Piqua, with Pastor Dennie Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, 646 High St., Piqua, OH.
