Gail M. Shepherd, 74, of Cheboygan, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011 at home.
A lifelong resident of Cheboygan, Gail was born May 19, 1937 in Cheboygan, the daughter of Isaac and Pricilla (St. Amour) Percy. On August 4, 1956 at St. Charles Catholic Church she married Thomas Shepherd. She had been employed at LeDuc’s Motel for many years, and loved animals.
Surviving is her husband, Tom Shepherd of Cheboygan, a son, Roger Shepherd, of Cheboygan, a daughter, Jane (Welbie) Houghton of Greenville, South Carolina, five grandchildren, Billy Shepherd, George Simmons, Kristin Simmons, Michael Shepherd, and Nicholas Shepherd, and a sister, Mary (Robert) Newsom of Clio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Wayne, and a sister, Jean Olson.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated on Friday, July 22, 2011, at St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church, with Rev. Richard Schaeffer officiating.
