Bettye Gainus, 83, of Big Spring died Friday, September 5, 2014, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation. Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at Myers & Smith Chapel with Randy Cotton, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, officiating.

She was born June 25, 1931, in Waxahachie, Texas to Ellie and Alton Bearden.

She worked in the accounting department at Webb Air Force Base and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons: Tim Raney and his wife Phyllis of Odessa and Ronnie Raney and his wife Melody of Pearland; one sister: Martha Freeman of San Angelo; six grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Franklin Gainus in 1986; two brothers: Elvin and Jay Bearden; and two sisters: Nell Scot ad Frances Hester.
