A Mass of Christian Burial for Samuel M. Fowler will be held at 11 am on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at The Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Natchitoches, LA with Rev. Louis Sklar serving as celebrant. Interment will follow at American Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on February 15, 2013 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm on Friday during the hours of visitation.

Sammy Fowler, 70 years of age, passed away February 13, 2013. Sam was born March 22, 1942 to the late Samuel M. Fowler and Willie Pearl (Zeller) Fowler in Monroe, LA. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s High. He worked for many years at Household Finance, presently known as Northern Trust and First Federal Bank of LA. He was a parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church and was a past president of the Natchitoches Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis Club. Being a man of great faith, he loved his lord, family and friends. He supported Northwestern athletics and enjoyed playing golf as well as listening to country music.

He is survived by his wife, Nona Fowler of Natchitoches; his children, Michael Mayo Fowler of Baton Rouge, Samuel M. Fowler III of Houston, TX, Christopher Dezendorf and his wife Nicole of Diamond Head, MS., Christy Rachal and her husband Mike of Natchitoches; step-children, Ashli Richardson of Houma and Alanna McCormick of Natchitoches; daughter in law, Kim Jones of Papillion NE; grandchildren, Edward and Maggie Dezendorf, Justin Fowler and Brett Fowler; siblings, William Fowler and his wife Charlene of Flowood, MS and Genevieve Allen and her husband Joe of Montgomery; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Francis Deloney, Wayne Poynter, Keith Breazeale, Van Barker, John Vandersypen, and John Sandifer. Honorary
